On the 22nd of January 2018, Weah was sworn in as president, making him the fourth youngest-serving president in Africa, with a near two generational shift in power from the previous administration. His ascendance marked Liberia's first democratic transition in 74 years, with goals to build infrastructure fight corruption, reform the economy, combate illiteracy and improve the living conditions of youth in the country.
